Melody Grace returns with her sexiest book yet! *This book contains adult situations and explicit content. 17+* UNINHIBITED is set 3 months after the events of UNREQUITED, but can be enjoyed as a stand-alone novel.
We first met Alicia and Dex in Melody Grace’s Unrequited. Fast forward 3 months to the start of Uninhibited. They are each at loose ends in their lives — personally and professionally. Dex is a rock star who is on hiatus from his band. Alicia is a business manager (sometime babysitter) for a fashion designer. One night, they shared something incredibly special that neither has been able to shake, but a couple of things stand in the way of their possible connection.
Alicia is a numbers person. Logic and routine are her pillars. She goes with what she knows because the unknown is too much a mystery and one can get stuck with a bad sandwich, instead of the steadfast Caesar salad, no cheese. Alicia is someone I can totally relate to – routine is comfort. Routine is easy. But there are times when you need to throw yourself a curveball and pitch yourself out a rut. That can be an act of bravery for some. She believes that she is in love with someone who long ago friend-zoned her, so being with Dex is an opportunity to do something daring and maybe help her forget the guy she thinks is “the one”.
Dex is a love. He has retreated from his world a bit and has all but walked away from his life’s passion. He’s found someone to put his heart into, but Alicia’s got someone else in hers. Where Alicia is cautious and thrives on the predictability – Dex is living his life in the moment and all about the spontaneity. He is a good man who loves and cares about the people in his life and takes responsibility for them, even when he shouldn’t.
I really liked how this story unfolded. Alicia and Dex forged a connection that was genuine and as a reader it kept me engaged. I found myself very invested in these two characters because they did just fit together perfectly and the foundation of this relationship was never about one-upmanship. The attraction was certainly there, but their willingness to truly listen to each other was something that made me swoony. Don’t get me wrong — Their love scenes were Sriracha-hot — just the exact amount of heat that was needed for this enticing dish. I found myself wanting more from time with them and wishing the story was longer.
I am a new Melody Grace reader. I am really impressed with how she wove the characters from previous books into this story. I am so looking forward to reading not only the previous books in the Beachwood Bay series, but most definitely her upcoming releases.
