I sell sex, sin, and pleasure, but it isn’t just my business, it’s my entire life. I get off on the power of controlling it all.
She’s the one woman I can’t have.
She threatens everything, and yet I can’t stay away. There’s a beautiful, sexual creature inside this timid girl that’s desperate to claw its way out. I’m going to set it free, even if it brings my empire tumbling down.
I have to believe she’ll be worth all the little mistakes I’ve made.
Nikki Sloane is definitely the type of writer who makes the term “one handed read” possible….but don’t let this term fool you because even though it might be considered a stroke novel, Nikki can write an amazing plot line. I was a bit late to the party on this series and when I read Three Simple Rules and fell so hard for it I immediately jumped right into Three Hard Lessons. And with the addition of Three Little Mistakes, this series is definitely becoming one of my favorites.
Three Little Mistakes is Joseph and Noemi’s story. I loved how Nikki introduced these two characters to each other. There was a bit of mystery surrounding Noemi and it really made the plot line between these two extremely intriguing. Joseph is the owner of the Blindfold Club….a sex club (or brothel if you speak Old English) where the woman are blindfolded and the man can have his sexy ways with them and Noemi, his love interest, is a girl several years younger who is anything but a sexual vixen.
I have already addressed Nikki’s penchant for writing an erotic book, and I mean light your kindle on fire erotic, but her gift really lies in the fact that she always seems to be able to create and come up with sexy scenes that are all different. Nothing seems stale or redone or overused. Whether there is one person, two, three or four each new encounter seems very original. And for me, that really shows creativity in the mind of an author.
But even with the scorching hot sex, Noemi was my favorite part of the book. I really loved this girl. She is privileged and educated and extremely innocent and the way that Joseph recognizes this about her and draws out her inner sexuality was pretty brilliant. The sexual journey that Noemi goes on is really one that a lot of women I know could follow the same path of. Don’t know if you like a dirty talker….let Joseph whisper in your ear. Don’t know if you like to be trussed up….let Joseph restrain you for a bit. Don’t know if you would like to be with a female….let Joseph introduce you to his sexually charged best friend. It is in all these steps that she took with Joseph, that she really learned what she did and didn’t like when it came to sex. It was this journey that I truly loved.
Joseph is just amazing. He is an Alpha Dom through and through. He is a grown man that is very established in his wealth and career and even though he didn’t think he was built for monogamy, I really appreciated the way Nikki wrote his inner struggle. Because honestly a man in his position and age, would really already know what he wants out of life…maybe not what he needs, but at least he wasn’t a 24 year old guy saying….I will NEVER get married. Joseph had been around the block a few times, so his plight to me felt very honest and his love for Noemi, when he gave into it, felt very genuine.
If you are picking up Nikki Sloane for the first time, I think you will love any of the Blindfold Club books. She frames each one in a way that you can read any of them in any order and not be lost, but seriously my friends….don’t miss the first two books. With each one you really get a glimpse of something special coupled with Nikki’s amazing writing. There is some big secrets to be revealed in this one and I was really glued to my kindle to see how they were going to be revealed. I might have wanted a tiny bit more with one of the revelations, but I’m not complaining…this book is definitely a 5 star read for me. I am really looking forward to seeing what she comes up with next! Excellent job Nikki!
